Does this sound correct.

Oil and filter service, £250! is this a going rate for this or are they taking the biscuit. I happened to be in my local renault dealer in Sheffield picking up some part and just thought i would ask as it will be due soon. I am reluctant to have a third party do the service as the car is new and i would like to keep the full renault service. What do you do?

  Clio 200
mine is out of warrenty and even if it was in i wouldnt be taking it to the stealers, but doesnt sound far wrong for a stealers price

  Up rocks
Sod that, ATS has done me proud and done an oil (shell helix fully synthetic) and filter change for £35. Dont care much for dealer stamps, whenever i've looked at buying a car i'm happy if there are recipts for regular oil changes.

I was quoted that too, I'm going to an approved renault dealer rather than renault themselves if that makes sense. Its about half the price.

That's how much my first service was, the prices are truely laughable - the guy across the road from me has a Porsche, he paid only a few pounds more from a Porsche dealer for similar work. Mine only sees a specialist now-a-days!

Was it the renault on ecclesall road? there all cowboys and dont know what they are doing... AT ALL.I take my renault to nutwood garage near fletchers bakery. mechanic is called BOB. uses all official renault parts and the proper tools etc. not sure if he's a renault specialist but my car has never missed a beat.

  Lots of Alfas
Are you sure thats all they did, did they replace anything else?? Air & pollen filter. Seems way too much.

It was indeed the one located on ecclesall road, on my first visit i realisted the difference from bmw customer care and renault (cheaper for a sytners service). The 250 is oil and filer only, when will the other filter require changing.

Thats the one where they are all wearing black and white jumpers and eye masks and use S.W.A.G bags for brief cases...

I phoned renault specifically for an interim oil & filter change with the excellium ldx 5w40 oil.
They quoted me £110.

I had previously paid £153 inc vat for the 48k full service - also at AC Williams Renault - Grantham.

I was in another Renault garage last week and saw the std service £250 like you say!!!!
I forget the name on the service desk......

Ah yeah, Robin Kuntz. [Think he was half German]

i do my own services. means you can pick the best parts and oils and it'll still be way cheaper than the insane £250 that you've been quoted. i understand wanting to keep up with your dealer stamps though.
