The guy on the IGN video review says he's put 150 hours into it and hasn't scratched the surface yet :S

I "obtained" a leaked PC copy earlier in the week and i honestly cant stop playing it.
Take Oblivion and polish it up, add more content. Take alittle of Fables "everything has a good/evil outcome for quests" aspect and then lastly add a NeverWinter Nights style party system to the mix. Voila.
My only gripe is the annoyingly long interactive cutscenes so to speak. Sometimes its like im watching a movie rather than playing a game as they can drag out.
Still deffiantely worth a try.

The fighting system looks too crap for me.
It was alright on games like Baldur's Gate: Shadows of Amn and the like but these days? Really?

From what ive been told by mates, the gameplay is indeed very much like Neverwinter Nights. Its went back towards the Party Focused play style (Baldur's Gate etc). Unlike Fallout 3, Oblivion etc where the story is based on a single Character 90% of the time.
Apparently the fastest that the game can be completed 100% in is 70 Hours so its going to be bloody huge. Im gonna pop to Game after work to pick it up, ill report back later on it.

Lol - I kind of get what you mean! The strange thing is, is that I tend to be Good on modern day/future RPGs such as Fallout 3 and completely Evil (i.e. Cookie Mode) on the fantasy/medieval type stuff.
Hopefully I can continue being the latter in this when Play deliver it.

Console reviews aren't as high as the pc mind! Gamespot gave the PC version a 9.5 and the consoles 9 and 8.5.
Given I'm crawling my way through the dungeons of Demons Souls I will give this a miss but yes it has had some great reviews.

So much to do, a few bugs with character movement but its well worth buying it. Not sure why but after a while it starts to run slow, Loading Screens take a while etc. Not sure if its my computer but it shouldnt be as its easily capable to run it on the highest settings. A game restart every now and then sorts it out though.
Main Story is pretty good too, wont go into spoilers though
Start is rather slow, took me about an hour to pick a Race/Class then getting used to the tactics system etc, although i dont bother with it (This leads to a few people's deaths now and again.)

^ Agree. I mentioned the same above about the cutscenes.
Im in the process of going around recruiting forces to join the Grey Wardens atm. Got the Elves, Redcliffe, Mages and working on Dwarves atm.
I regret playing as a Mage though its making things alot harder than it needs to be! In Hindsight i would have gone some sort of Rogue/Archer for the lockpicking goodness yet not so squishy as a mage
CoD:MW2 should be delivered today though, so i doubt i will be spending much more time on DragonAge.

I'm pretty far into this now, it's freakin sweet !!!! the story is soo good I've been waiting for a game like this for ages now

I've only scratched the tip of this game - approx 30mins, but it does seem very good. Bioware are geniuses imo. The scope and depth that they put into games is really quite astounding at times.

It's easy you can just hit space to pause then switch between charachters change their targets and change their attacks then unpause. Makes it really easy to win as you can set one guy to attack then another to heal and switch etc.
I'm playing as a human mage so I've not specialised in melee massively yet, I just have this poncy dude with a massive shield to keep the melee off my "Clothies"

Just picked this up for £23.70 from Tesco

my copy turned up yesterday so far im not overly impressed far too much dialogue. only 4 hours in though. also the battle system is a bit crap in that you can only attack when your in range you cant just go swinging your sword where ever you want oh and collecting the treasure is a pain with you having to wait till you have killed everything in site before it will let you but you can spot bad guys from miles away so it makes it hard to collect things at times
