Drivers side door locks

I noticed yesterday that a neighbours 02 Dynamique has a door lock on the drivers side.

I dont have one on my 53 Dynamique... hmm, the lady next door to me has one on her 03 Extreme too... Why dont I have one? How am I expected to get into the car if my blip thing fails?

they were removed during the 53 reg plate and if you cant get in your car, use the passenger side. Although I am not sure the car will start without the blip first being deactivated?
