drivers window

I went to put my drivers electric window up today and as it started to go up i heard a crunch noisoe and then it stopped. I had to pull the window back up using my hands. the motor still seams to work but the window dosent move, when i drive it starts to slip down so its taped shut at the moment. Any ideas what it could be before i start taking the door card off at the weekend?

clip on the bottom of the window has broken needs a new regulator £50 or so from renault specialist breakers
