DVD recorder.. playback info needed..

I just got a DVD recorder.. and I am finding if I record a film (2hrs long for eg.) and I turn it off after half way through to finish watching the next day... when I want to start it again it goes back to the beginning!? I have to write down the time before I stop it and 'go-to' that time to start again where I left off. Is this the same prob with all DVDR?

Are you turning the player off completely or just going into standby?? Generally all DVD players I have used and our DVD-RW keeps the playback position when I stop or turn the machine off (standby).

i create a chapter then skip to it.

what recorder do you have btw?

Mine stays at the same place as long as you dont switch it off.
