how brilliant are elephant. first company to give me a 'reasonable' insurance quote of £1380 when the cheapest id have before was just shy of £2k.

Yeah and you can play them off against Admiral and Bell as they're all the same parent company! I was with Elephant last year, this year Admiral beat their renewal quote!

i made a quote with admiral and it was hideous - so seeing as its the same company im fully prepared for what could happen, but the idea is not the crash over the next 12 months

in my experience claiming with Elephant wasn't so bad

If you write off your car with elephant or admiral, you have to pay the full premium up til the end of the policy. This is normal for all other insurers too, however any other insurer will allow you to continue to use the policy on your new vehicle when you buy one. Elephant and Admiral will just cancel your policy and you'll still have to pay the full premium.
