Emissions Light on - won't start first time from cold

Since it's been cold my 182 trip computer has been resetting every time the car is left overnight and the car starts second time instead of first from cold. I assumed this would mean new battery required, but the emissions light (bottom right corner) has been permanently on since the issue started.

I had the pre-cat lamda sensor replaced just before Christmas so could the light be something to do with that or is it normal to have a warning light on for a slightly knackered battery?

If you dont have a de-cat pipe then the cat might be your problem

Mine had a De-Cat pipe on and replace for a CAT last week, and still the same.

Jenic off here came and read my Faults using RStuner before i had CAT put on and took off Faults and Light. The light then came back on the next day, which was around 2 weeks ago and a week before i had CAT put on.

The light is still on though. Do you reckon it needs it taking off again?

Will have to borrow someone's RSTuner. My problems are the same as v15ben, except mine starts first time. My battery could do with being replaced as it has gone dead a few times. Its running abit rough but have checked all sensors(cleaned and working), new plugs, leads are fine, coilpack fine, Oil change, etc.

When i had ECU read using RSTuner the faults where:

DF0014 Canister Purge Open Circuit
DF0014 Canister Purge Fault
DF0038 Rear O2 Heater Fault on Activation (this is because it had De-Cat on and wasn't connected up to it)

Most people on here say the Canister purge isn't needed, and its had another Rear O2 heater put on when the CAT was fitted.

Just running out of idea's now. Car drives fine, but sometimes i have to give it some revs when setting off, just so it doesn't stall.

Car is a 2002 172 Cup.

My emission light's been on and off since the beginning of december. On for a week, off for 2 weeks, on for a week, off.... etc etc.

Doesn't bother me, the car drives fine and its not blowing. I just put it down to another french car 'characteristic'.
Its off at the moment and has been for a week, so it's due to come back on any day now

I had it going on and off a few weeks back. Had a new sports cat fitted in November so had the light turned off after that. It wasn't having any starting issues until this past week. Hardly been using it though so might be down to loads of short trips and not giving the battery chance to charge up!
