Engine oil breather plate

  BMW 120D M Sport
Hello,

ive just bought a 182 which im building into a race car, Im completely new to Clio’s.

I removed the inlet the other day, After finding the 2 10m bolts holding the back of it down (either side of the coil pack) have had the threads stripped previousl

also noticed the oil breather plate looks like it has been plated up, However there is still the hole on the underside of the inlet with a gasket round it.

are these just plated over from factory on 182’s or has this been done by someone in the past?

Thing is im not sure if where the 2 bolts at the back aren’t actually holding the inlet down its not going to be sealing properly so can the hole on the underside of the inlet be plated over as well? As it doesn’t seem to do much

thanks in advance
