Sounds like you haven't got it tbh . Have you only got the middle one and the wheel ? What date was your car first registered as new ?

ive only got the wheel mate and its early 2002 im abit annoyed ha. there is two plugs directly behind the panel and is joined into the same loom as the plug that is in the wheel. if i was to get the panel with all three switches do you think the plugs will be for them???

You might have the plugs and the wiring . But i'm pretty sure it's not as simple as just changing the panel . It'll be programmed into the ecu as well i would think . I'm not that clued up on it . I wouldn't bother about it too much if i was you . I had a 172 without it before i got my 182 and i don't notice any difference tbh .

I'm pretty sure of those connectors will be for the dash dimming facility.

oh really so when you switch the switch is it not that much of a difference? my friend put a 172 engine in his 1.4 clio and it just seemed mental so i went to buy 1 its really nice to drive but when you give it some it seem restricted i was thinking its because the esp and traction controll is stopping it all, hence taking the fun out abit dya no wot i mean. how is the 182 then is it much better than the 172???

I do feel my 182 handles a bit better than my 172 did .It's probably down to the slightly lower stiffer suspension , wider track and the Exalto tyres . Alot of people don't like the esp / traction control so they turn it off . They feel it bogs the car down . I've never really noticed any significant difference with it on or off , maybe slightly less wheel spin when setting off from a junction in the wet , but thats about it really .
