ESP & SERV light woes

  Clio 182 Trophy
Advice needed please!

So after a fair chunk of of work to get it through, my 182 is almost ready for mot (currently sorned with expired mot).

One job was left... clearing the ESP, SERV & ABS lights. My code reader won’t even get a code from the Clio so it came down to guess work.

After reading up on the subject I changed the brake position sensor. This cleared the ABS light :D

I then stripped the steering wheel down to find the steering angle sensor wasn’t calibrated correctly, blue in corner rather than yellow. I set it to the yellow making sure it had the 180 deg turn so is set right. Carefully put it back together & ran the car out for a couple of minutes.... SERV & ESP lights came back on :(

What are my choices from here? Can I drive it to a garage with no mot if it’s for pre booked work? Car will be going for it’s belts changing soon & a few other bits. It’s going to be a big bill & was hoping not to add to it with something I’m mechanically capable of fixing myself! Pretty sure under the new mot rules lights on the dash are an instant failure.

What is the rough charge for a specialist (I’m guessing my local indie won’t have the clip software) to run the car on clip? I don’t know whether to do this or just buy a new sensor/ squib. Don’t want to spend out twice if I can help it. Then others have said even with a new sensor the car needs to be calibrated on the clip system. Are second hand sensors usually ok or is it one of those parts that’s better to replace with new?

Is there anything else it could be?

Sorry for long post & thanks in advance for any responses.

Thanks for the recommendation will check him out. Had planned on sending the car to mark fish for all the work but good to have another option too.

Does anyone know if I can drive the car untaxed & mot’d (it is insured) for pre booked work?
