Ever since I sold my E61 I’d had a hankering for another, or alternatively an F11 530D.
Jump forward to yesterday morning scrolling Facebook marketplace this car pops up,
2010 SE 530D ZF8 gearbox in space grey with oyster interior.
121k miles, seemed a genuine car with a genuine owner. So I jumped on the train (perks of working on the railway now😆) and went to see it.
Guy picked me up from the station in the car and immediately you could tell it was as described.
Had been serviced in the last 2 weeks along with new tyres, pads and replacement rocker cover and oil filter housing as for a while him and previous owners had been chasing an oil leak.
He informed me he had the dpf/egr mapped out and it should be now around 300bhp, which I could quite believe as it’s a pretty quick car. Unfortunately all the paperwork from before he owned it he’d misplaced in a divorce and house move but it’s clearly been loved in its life.
So I bought it and drove it home, effortless doing 50mpg.
Plans with it;
Fix some minor issues with, broken interior vents, new rear load chrome trim, get a load cover and get some proper bmw mats in replacement for the bmw rubber mats it has.
I’d like to see if I can retrofit an M-sport wheel with paddles, and as the front & rear bumpers have damage I may look into fitting msport bumpers instead.
Cheers
