Faint rattle when revs drop

  200T & 172 Project
Hi everyone,

I know this is going to be hard but just would like possible suggestions until I can get it looked at by a specialist.

basically when the engine is anywhere between stone cold and just before fully warm if I blip the throttle to for example 3k when I let off the accelerator it has a rattle noise just before it hits idle. It sometimes can be heard on idle but not every time is kinda intermittent. Also it can't be heard as the cars accelerating or being rev'd.

listening under the bonnet it sounds like it may be coming from inlet/head area... Possibly cam related?

So yeah...any help or advice would be great. :)

Thanks
Tom

Probably a water pump issue but take it back to whoever did the belts with your concerns.

If they value your custom they will take a look for you.

Not all of it no just the aux belt but... take it back and see what they say as it may not be the pump.

By law whoever did it must provide warranty on the job they've done covering parts and labour for 12months. If it's something to do with the job they've done they should be fixing it free of charge under that warranty.

Stop worrying and ask them to take a look first and politely express your concerns.
