FAO 1.2 owners

Coming back from work i had to brake very hard from about 60mph to standstill..and the car was all over the place, it went to the left, then the right before finally sticking to a straight line. I have always been worried that my left front brakes harder than the right..but otherwise i guess it could be the wider tyres i have on now?

When you have a chance can fellow owners try doing a similar test to see if the same thing happens?

Cheers

iain, see how you say you have a clio turbo...is that a turbo on 1.2 16v?!?!or am i missing the point here:)

turbo diesel???

I got a 1.2 16v dynamique and i to find the same problem as you rob even some times at lower speeds than 60 but between 50 and 70 it is bad i have had a few scary moments i took it to Reanult they checked everything in the breaking department was ok and they said it was fien still happens though!

yeah its a turbo diesel! but still a dynamique and i assume it will still have the same brakes n stuff??

on my dci dynamique i have put a set of cup alloys on with their standard continetal 195 45 16 on. my clio started to do the same tram line effect. I also used to own a fiesta zetec S (only had one cos i worked for ford and got a discount) and it did too.

The problem i found was when one front tyre had less pressure in then the other or both tyres had too much pressure in. I found this out on the fiesta after 6 months when i noticed the tram lining so pumped the tyres up.... and when i put the cup alloys on the clio I did not check the pressures and one front tyre was 35 and the other 28..... got giddy about the alloys you see

check your pressures

I only checked them last night..but i will check again as im lazy re-checking the pressure after ive pumped them up, i just think thatll do!.

Otherwise ill do what Dynamiquedick did, and take it in..

Cheers guys

mine pulls left, has done a little since i got it but seems to do it more now. probably just because im more used to the car where as i took it easier when it was new.

Mine suffers from a rear light end as well. Im hoping new pads fix it. Also pulls to the left.

I have tried braking loads on straight empty roads from high speed and the car does seem very rear end light and pulluing to the left but I think the edb or whatever helps it to go in a straight line. Im not sure though cos the EBD didnt do anything when I crashed. It makes me think the EBD is broken but I dont want Renault monkeys trying agian to fix anything on my car as they create more problems than they fix.
