i have it. very good, the gear i really felt it in was third and on a recent rolling road my peak power was at 6330RPM as opposed to un-chipped clios that peak at 7k
coolio looking to get one done as ive so far got the full exaust system inc. de-cat and induction kit and would be good to get it all set up good and proper!
Im interested in one of the HP chips too, the thing is they are miles away from me. If I get one sent through the post is it possible to fit it myself, is it a solder in one ? Also, do they have to be set up depending on what mods you have ?
MMMMMM have to think about it, Ill be looking at over 250 miles I reckon, round trip, will have to weigh up the pros/cons of going up there. What probs would I be likely to experience if I send the ECU through the post do you think ?
Yeah I am in same boat as Mike100, got KTR system and decat, pipercross ind. kit, also interested in how much chip would cost by sending ecu by post, I would have a three day minimum round trip to pay a visit to hill power so post is only way. Also the induction kit scoop that hillpower sells, is this for behind front bumper scoops, or how is it set up. Could I it to fit a pipercross ind kit as I know hill power dont use pipercross filters. Cheers for any help
well i got my first HP chip throught the post but it turned out it was overfuelling. If you go down there hell test it on the car so you know eveything is as it should be, plus your car will be off the road for a couple of days if you post it.
Ok, how about getting the chip through the post, putting it on and then getting someone a bit more local [not 250 odd miles away] to alter the fuelling if need be ? Or doesnt it work like that, I dont know ? Theres a place near me called Sanspeed who fit chips and have a RR etc, do you think theyd tinker with a HP chip ?
i thought they pre porgrammed them then soldered them in so unless they have the software to do it i dont suppose they can alter them. Id say its worth the trip, if its 250 mile round trip.
i have realised that most chips which company use just replaces the old chip from the ECU unless u buy a uni chip which are ment to be really cool but you have to pay at least £500.
so once i relised that most these chips that they put in your ECU are a direct changeover i decided to at least give my money to Superchips because they have been around for 20 years and you dont find many unstatisfed customers from the people i know that have had it superchipped.
i would of loved a uni chip. spent money elsewhere on the car.
Bondy whats a pbv ? Yeah I am in Kidbrooke which is why Im reluctant to drive up to HP but for the price it may be worth it. With this pbv thingy and a RR is it possible to do it all through the post ?
