i dont know whether i'd recommend you to do it to be honest, does look really nice, but the maintinance issues with are quite extensive. i've only had it done in feb, and i've already had to have it repaired and refilled as the filler started to sag. Would've also cost me the best part of 600 quid if i hadnt have been having a lot of other work done. The inserts were also plastic welded, so was a proper job, not just completly filled, yet it still sagged. If you can find a good garage that can give you some sort of guarentee then go for it.

i'd start by colour coding it (if you havent already), and see what you think of that. if you not happy with it, either go for the smoothing option or a complete 172 front. to be honest i dont really see the point of putting a front bumper on without 172 wings as the wings are the best part of the front end. Has on here (who had the 172 front bumper fitted professionally onto 1.2 wings by remoulding the bumper etc.) paid 600 quid to have the work done, and i think that was without buying the front bumper. If your gonna do this then definitly do it properly as bodging it on means problems with arch liners, splitters etc, and doesnt look as good. Good thing bout your car is that it isnt a 172 colour so you cant be accused of 'copying'. Also take a look at the extreme front bumper, as seen on this link (although not a very good picture lol), with a bit of customization could look mint

i dont mind sharing my plans i'm either gonna cover the one i've got in carbon, although dont know if i can be arsed with all the hassle again, or i'm gonna get my body shop to modify a carbon cup one (like has's) or i'm gonna harass has till he sells me his

if i could find a decent insurance quote id just get the 172 but out of princable i will not pay 2.5k for insurance

Taylor, have you tried direct line? Jus a thort as I always thort I couldnt get a decent quote on a 172 untill I tried direct line yesterday. EVen with my crash it was only £1090

good thing is if your planning to sell the car soon, if you have the 172 coversion they normally add value to your car, as everyone wants one. If i was you, i'd just colourcode, even give it a bash yourself as you did a good job of your sides.

i was trying to get to the trafford centre, took fooking hours, was in my lasses crappy black 106, figured it'd be slightly cheaper than taking the 172 down, costs about £2 in that and £22 in mine, so you won't of noticed me in it!!

Not always, sometimes they want some mroe nformation that dont ask for on the internet, and other times they just dont want to quote the price online because its huge, lol. Best bet is to just phone them. Have you tried the likes of diamond and sheilas wheels? Might be worth a go!
