Faulty Alpine CDE 9828

  Clio 1.2 8v (2002)
I picked up my new car last week which was fitted with an Alpine CDE 9828 headunit. The display works fine however I tried to load a cd and nothing happened.

Normally it's a case of slightly pushing the cd and the unit loads it but it's not doing so. I ended up pushing the cd in so now it's stuck (clever, I know!) and it still says 'NO DISC'.

Hoping someone can diagnose the problem and hopefully how it can be fixed.

Thanks

Any time I came accross this problem there was normally one of two problems.
1: There was already a damaged cd in there the cd player couldnt read. (Now you may have two in there. I came accross a kenwood with three cd's in it one day, took it apart and removed all three cd's and it worked again!)
2: Sounds silly but kids will "post" coins into cd slots of players and this has in the past been a regular cause of this type of problem. (Once made an extra 27p this way.)
So take the Alpine out remove the top and see whats what.
