Faulty ecu or electric hydroloc pump system?

  Renault Clio 2001
Hi, I have bought a Renault Clio 2001 1.2, 16v. Th car drives perfectly, except sometimes when I turn on the engine the power steering light comes on and it like turning a tank especially on maneuvers, turning corners has to be done very slowly to give time to turn th very heavy steering wheel. Other times, no light is on when I start the engine and the cars steering is so smooth. It's been to two garages who have run a diagnostics check, while th fault is off and being checked, it shows everything is fine, but while th fault is showing up and being checked, the garages diagnostic machine doesn't even communicate with the car! Also if it helps, th airbag light is also intermittent and comes on n off as it pleases, this showed up on the check as an ecu fault. Is it likely that th steering fault is a problem with the ecu or the electric hydroloc pump system?

Does it have hydraulic PAS? Or is it already EPAS? Airbag fault is most likely to be one of the seat plugs coming loose.

Its EPAS. It needs to go on clip (proper renault diag gear) to get anything useful back. Otherwise you're stabbing in the dark.

Yep, deffo needs a Clip as Snap-On haven't quite got the EPAS system correct yet so its hit and miss until the end of this year when the updates come out.

Where are you from matey? Bring it in and i'll stick it on the Clip for you
