faulty subs

was lookin at my friends subs today,

i took my multimeter across both terminals of the speaker, and found there was no ressistance in them.

does this mean they are fualty?

Put a Double A batter across the terminals of it. Please use wire to the + to the Positive of the speaker and the - to the Negative of the speaker.

If the speaker makes a pop or a noise then generally its all ok to use.

Your not putting power over it, so thus making no resistance. I could be wrong.

Does the cones move when you do the battery check?

i havnt done the battery check i will try it tomorow thanks for that.
im sure you should get a ressistance in it if they are off, would just like it clarified.

yes you will get a resistance still as its the speaker that creates the resistance not what its wired up to

might be one wire has come loose in the coil that connects to the cone..get it tested and youll soon see

looked for any signs off loose wires today around the cone and all seems to be fine, even if it is loose at the cone it must be very hard to repair, as u cudnt solder it on as it would burn the cone

Ya there should be reziztance in a sub one way or another wat reading you getting all zero's or a one in the left corner.
If ya put a battery on the terimals only do for a quick second as speakers aren't designed for dc voltages so this can cause damage

ye hes prob better just buying new ones, will do the battery check first anyway but i dont think it will work.

mutant x, cheap shite, he mite aswell buy new ones, he only had them going a few days.

probably blown them, they are crap, ive got a competition sub up for sale, £90 or 2 for £170
