Finding my new cars old owner

Hi have recently got myself a 182 and loving it. Whats the best way to go about finding the old owner as its got this site stickers on for info on the car plus seeing if they have receipts etc for work that Ive been told has been done to it? ( I got it from a dealer and he gave me a list of things done allegedly but had no receipts.)

Ive tried searching this site with the reg but nothing found.

I know i asked him the same question, he was going to keep it but came across another car he wanted instead blah blah blah he did have it for 6 months

My mate traded his fiesta zetec s in for a new ST, when he went to hand over all the history and receipts the salesman said that he didn't need any of that, just the log book. Is it common for dealers to do this? Thought it was a bit weird myself.
