First Clay and Wax

Well as title says it was the first clay and wax for me and also my car a Black Mk3 1.6 Clio 55 plate..

This is all tanks to fraz1975 who was kind enough to let me use his products while showing me the right was to do it any way we started around 11 and eventualy finished at must have been around 4

Youll have to excuse my photography as im still new at the game so be nice ill try explain best i can what was done at the point in the picture

Some before shot hadent been cleaned in a week and raods up from dundee were rather wet

SNOW FOAM !! first time ive seen it used and i want it now lol :detailer:

After the snow foam was given a once over with Maxi Suds and Billborry on the wheels

Wheels wernt to bad to start with but Billborry is a really good cleaner must buy imo :thumb:

After this took it in side gave it a quick dry and began claying as ive never done this before fraz showed me and i went on after that from what he said to start with the car wasnt to dirty at all but after the claying you could see a diffrence in the paint after that we gave it a once over with Lime Prime and this also showed up a diffrence once buffed off.

For some reason i really love this shot.

How can i put this about a week ago some threw and egg at my car and this is the aftermath sadly didnt come out with claying so im looking to get it machine polished...any takers ???

Once lime prime was buffed off and we had a cup of Tea got to work on the wax DoDo Purple Haze first time ive ever waxed a car also and im very impressed with the finish shows the colour up nice.

Like a Mirror....

Once again after the wax love this shot..

Took it out in the light and gave the tyres a Dress for the final Pics have to say im very proud of the car now :driver:

All comments welcome some tips would be grand also...

I this is not about detailing but are you thinking of lowering that? they come mighty high from the factory.

Yup Coilovers will be on my door step this Friday if Dave at K Tec is telling the truth mate and so it will be dragging its arse !!

Looks good dude, the only real pointer I'd say is perhaps look to build up layers of wax over the next few weeks. Claying strips all protection off, so one layer of Dodo will still mean the paint is relatively unprotected.

But, top job - you caught the bug yet!?!

Sadly yes ive got the bug lol !! need some one to Machine Polish it though theres loads of badly touched up chips n scratches annd plus the egg scratches on the front is doing my tits in !

Yeah im about to order up some more stuff as my dads wanting me to do his car lol so theres another £80ish out my pocket Grand total so far is only around £160 on products :quiet:

That egg mark may need wet sanding out as polishing alone may not bring it back up perfect.

I aint going near it with sand paper mate ill end up back to bare plastic lol !!

I got the reg of the car it came from and next time a see the fucker hell be a bit worse for ware !

I would offer to lend you my PC if you supplied your own pads and polishes but your abit far away.

Nice work, egg mark will need in most cases more than polishing or wet sanding alone will need some paint tbh, leaves such deep fine marks it goes through the clearcoat and base coat and allows the primer to show through.

Yeah after reading someone elses mishap on DW forums looks like ill need to get it touched up, Othere reasons for wantint to machine polish it is the fact that theres slight overspray on the rear bumper and boot lid so came to the concusion cars been in an accident before hand :/

My 1 week old Fiesta ST got egged not so long back - totally gutted, right in the middle of my bonnet.

It needs a respray ideally. I don't get the mentality of these assholes. They were in a dodgy P reg Corsa going in opposite direction

If that was me it would of been a case of a sharp yank on the handbrake and handful of opposite lock, complete cnuts.
