Fitting Shocks and Springs

Can anyone that has had shocks and springs fitted front and rear let me know how much it cost?

I am getting some fitted to my 16v but I cant imagine prices change too much with different models.

Also if anyone has a recomendation for the Midlands let me know.

Thanks in advance

Hi Mate, I havent actually had mine done yet but I got a quote for around £140. I put a post on here seeing how much everyone else paid and the prices ranged from about £80-£200. I think it just depends on who you go to.
As for recommending anyone, I got told that most garages would be able to do a decent job but Im a bit concerned about taking the car to someone who doesnt normally carry out this kind of work. Some of them just stare blankly at you when you ask if they can lower the torsion bar!!

I got mine done 2 weeks ago cost me £110 for all shocks and springs INCLUDING Torsion bar.

I got mine lowered for £190 but that was with coilovers and included setting them up!
As for the torsion bar a "special" tool is required so some places may not be able to do it.
I would advise you to mention that they must also adjust the brake bias as many cowboys (Xtreme ) do not!!

Just thought I would mention - they are coilovers.

I will get some quotes from some garages in the area. Thanks guys and gal

Not Renault for sure! The reliable, realistically priced local garage is best, where they dont have targets to meet like dealers/Quickfit etc etc.

Dave have you thought of just getting the spanners out, jacking it up and doing it yourself?

The only bit that isnt easy unless you have the right tools/expertise is the torsion bar. The struts should just come right out, then you just put the new ones in, piece of piss especially with coilovers.

£140 for shocks springs and torsion bar from extreme.
I thought they did a good job of it all but i know theres a lot who dont like them.
Theyve done it quite a few times so they got the knowledge and can sort it out right.

Geoff, do you get any rubbing with your 17" plus 30mm Eibachs lowering please?

PS Geoff, what about the warranty, should a problem occur? You know what these warranty companies are like, as they try their hardest to avoid paying up saying that lowering etc voids it!

where are you getting and how much are you paying (Ecl. fitting) for coilovers those who are having them done?
i want a real pucka suspension set up for hadeling not so much looks,

i thought coilovers were silly money,

I used to work for Avo so I have bought two sets for next too nothing

oh and already sold the second set - sorry

Dave,

I think we should contact Torsion Tuning to see if theyll do us a deal for fitting two kits.
Thats if you can get a day off work?

I have four koni sport shocks that was around 400eur.
I also have clio 16V springs mounted.
Lowering the torsion bar, I didnt done it sucessfuly, so I had to pay a guy to do it. 50Eur

all was around 450eur, since the mounting was done by me.

lowering the front is a piece of piss, easy to do yourself. just follow the haynes manual. didnt try the torsion bar though, RPM in Ware, Hertfordshire did it for £82, was deff the best proce i was quoted in the area. tried extreme, ripspeed and ar-tec.
