Folder options

When downloading something , lets say for example a program from a website into a folder , when the program had finished downloading i was always given the option to "open folder " , " close folder " etc ...

Now as soon as it's finished downloading i have to navigate to the folder rather than having the option to open the folder .

Obviously somethings change , but i don't know what ? Anybody any ideas if i've unticked / ticked something for this change to have occurred ?

i think i know what you mean; when the file is still downloading, there is a tick box that says 'close this window when download completes' on the window that has the open folder buttons, if you untick it while a file is downloading then the button will stay there
