Weekend weather update - showers forecast at MonzaWelcome to round 14 of the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship, the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Unusually, this may be a race at the famed Autodrome in which the weather plays a role. Thursday will be partly cloudy with an ambient temperature high of 27 degrees Celsius, but there is a possibility of showers for the following three days. On Friday and Saturday the temperature high will drop to 25 and 21 degrees respectively, rising again to 27 on race day.

The race will run over 53 laps of the 5.793 kilometre (3.6 mile) circuit, or 306.720 kilometres (190.596 miles). It starts at 1400 hours local time, which is two hours ahead of GMT.

Fastest of the wet runners was Timo Glock, lapping four seconds shy of Sutil's dry lap with a 1m36.800s on full wet tyres.
Kimi Raikkonen was the highest-placed of the front-runners with the ninth fastest time, while Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa set the slowest recorded lap time of all.
Both McLaren and BMW drivers decided against completing timed laps, opting for just a single installation lap each in the dry.
The session was finally red-flagged with four minutes remaining after a deluge flooded much of the pit lane and forced teams to concentrate more on keeping their garages dry than setting up their cars.

Crazy weather in down town Monza, cant remember the last time it was a wet race there.

Going to be another interesting weekend, shame im watching 1000KM sports car race at Silverstone ill have to listen to it on 5live
