Since buying my cup about two months ago i have had a worry over the gearbox; when driving hard and changing from 2nd to 3rd it occasionally misses the gear. Its happened about 5 times now sounds nasty, im hoping its me missing the gear. Any experience of this or what it could lead to?

Gearbox issues...

Car is a 2003 with 44k on the clock, im assuming the gearbox oil is the same as when purchased. I emailed the guy asking his if the gearbox oil had been changed but he didnt reply.
I've been told that the gear oil is good for over 100k but personally think that it's a good idea to keep an eye on the level as they can apparently leak at the point where the selector linkage leaves the box casing, which can cause problems.
A few on here have complained about difficulty in selecting third quickly from second - it seems a feature of the 'box - wouldn't worry about it. My old gearbox did it and so does the new (rebuilt) gearbox that replaced it at less than 40k.
