Gearbox problem

Hi Guys,

Ive got a bit of a problem with my gearbox, I recently had it changed for a re-conditioned unit after I shattered the diff in my old box. The box seems to be ok in all gears apart from 2nd.
When I change to 2nd gear, if Im accelerating then it seems to be ok but if I am pootling round town (ie no real stress on the gears) in 2nd, every now and again it seems to slip out. Does this sound like a severe problem or something that can be fixed (eg adjusting the linkage?)

Cheers, Jase

Hi Jase

It maybe a gear linkage adjustment but normally it would indicate a weak detent spring. Not an easy job. Gearbox out and strip to replace the faulty spring. If its a recon box, why not take it back to your supplier?
