get a saw

got a lovely momo gear know for xmas but i couldnt get the original off so out comes the hacksaw! anyone else done this?

apparently if you heat it up wiht a hot air gun is softens the gear knob and wiht some force it can be twisted off

Yeah use a hairdryer to heat up the knob then get a strong mate to twist it off !! Although once its off the same one wont go back on unless u glue it !! So hacksaw is the easy option !! Make sure u dont butcher the lift up reverse collar !!

Yup just wait till uve been driving in London, and are really pissed off, sit in the car and take a mighty swoop for the gearknob, mine came off it 2 BIG twists

I used good old Hacksaw, took time though. But eventually got the thing off. Well worth it.

Will the mk2s (2000) gearknob twist off too? I was told that there was some plastic cover underneath that had to be hack sawed off?
