Renault clio 1.2 16v
Hi, recently bought a cheap android carplay headunit for my renault clio 2011 tomtom. After it wasnt turning on after fitting it I finally figured out what was wrong. For my vehicle there was no power coming from the ACC ignition wire where it usually comes from in the clio 3. I've seen in other sections online that other people run into a similar issue with no power to their aftermarket headunit on the tomtom model. I assume this is the same issue for those people not just my car. Yet, there was no solution other than some ancient thread on here which didn't explain the issue and the person didn't actually try it. For me, How i fixed this issue is by tapping into the 12V cigarette lighter fuse under the steering wheel and splicing it into the ACC ignition wire for the headunit. After doing this the unit powered on instantly, with the speakers working correctly etc (still need to figure out steering wheel controls although there are guides for this online). Just thought I would raise awareness for this issue and help people resolve this.
