GFX Help (Hardware/Software Render)

trying to play an old game but im getting a graphics error, tried patching and its still there, been told to try....

"do you use hardware or software render? i think software work best"

how do i switch between hardware/software rendering? so i can test it.

Hardware rendering is always better than software.

And it should be an option on the game itself nothing to do with your actual card.

I think hardware is faster but can cause problems. Software is supposed to work on virtually every computer out there.

Can you turn off hardware acceleration in your graphics card display properties menu.

Some older games needed to be started with a switch after the filename such as:

start.exe /r

What game is it?

it is an older game, ive tried to switch it to run in 95 mode, 98 mode, xp mode, still same error.

ive also looked in the Nvidia Control Panel but there doesnt seem to be anything on rendering
