Girlfriend Buying a Laptop. Quick Advice Please? Doing my head in!

Hello mateys!!

I have looked these two up and can't decide on which one she should buy!!

The 118em (top link) retails for like £349 new and has an intel 3200 processor.

The 214em retails for like £429 new and has an AMD QL62 processor.

BOTH ARE £319.99 as you can see.

So, which would you buy?

The 214em has a better graphics card, better screen and HDMI output.

The 118em has an Intel core 2 duo processor which performs slightly better than the 214em BUT it has a basic on board graphics card, standard screen and no HDMI.


What would you buy, if any of these two???

I just have a personal vendetta against AMD! Thing is, the difference between Intel and AMD shouldnt make any sort of difference to her as she is only using it for general Uni work and internet browsing!

Seems like the 214em with AMD is the better option as it does seem to have the better 'features'.

Ive always favoured AMD personally.

If shes only using it for Uni work then the graphics card etc shouldn't really matter.

I've just got a samsung Q210 from laptops direct. Awesome laptop. NVIDIA separate graphics and 4 gig of ram all in a 12.1 inch laptop.

I would advise getting one with a separate graphics card. Makes a difference if running vista
