Good deal?

  20vt Fiat Coupe(182 Sold)
Does this sound like a good deal? Arnold Clark have offered me £5551 (or £6k if you inc discount of other car) for my 05reg 182, with 41k miles, FSH 10months mot and 4months tax, 3 owners against a 57reg Vauxhall Astra 1.9cdti sri 150bhp with 15k miles, remainder of warranty for 8495, with discount, plate transfer and road tax and deposit bringing the balance to £8044.

that sounds a fair trade price, i got 5.5 for mine in April, 04 with cup packs 39k miles. They cant be making too much on the Astra.

Sounds reasonable.

My clio is £5551. The astra is £8495, however there reducing it to £8044. So in a way, im getting £6k for the clio.

So the balance to pay is £2044, not £8044 as per your first post??! ;)

The £2044 you have to pay, does that include your plate transfer/road tax etc?

If it is, that sounds like a good deal to me. Diesel cars are not depreciating anywhere near as much as big engined petrol cars either.

thats the same or more than some of them have been going for privately - go for it

Its a good deal, but i really like my Clio. Only reason im considering a sale, is because i have had the car since mid Aug and have clocked over 3k miles, and thats alot of fuel so would be wise to get something abit more economical.....
Nah the balance is £8044 as there is outstanding finance on the Clio, and the £8044 incs the tax and plate transfer.

Oh, and send the tax back on your 182. 4 months is about £80 refund!! Don't let the salesman have that ffs!!

Pick up a form in the post office.

thats still average mileage, and the 182 can give 36mpg - sure you'll get much better out of a diesel astra, but the extra you will pay for getting a new car, you'll never see that back in saved fuel costs.

At 40k miles tho the Clios can start getting a bit pricey on maintenance.

My trip computer says around 32mpg. Im doing alot of town driving tho, not so much motorway. And im saving £200 on my insurance if i go for the astra. As for maintance the Clio is under warranty anyways...

It does sound like a very attractive deal. The residuals on 182 are taking a dive, so its probably a good time to shift the Clio if thats what you want to do - they are hard to sell privately at the moment too, so a trade in is an ideal option really
