Handbrake Help

I adjusted my handbrake this weekend, but now the light is always on even when the handbrake is down. Have i over tightened it? I have slackened it off considerably, but light is still on. The rears aren't engaged as the wheels spin. (one spins more than the other, but the part where the cable splits into two is straight.

there is a switch on the handbrake lever, take the covers off and check you havent knocked the wire off or trapped it and that the switch is working.

the light is also a low brake fluid warning so u might want to check that too
