Hard disk fail

I've got a 2TB E-sata that has failed.

It powers on and you can hear it spinning and reading, then it just powers down and thats it.

Anyone used any companies to restore these? I could really do with the photos of the youth that are on there, everything else is backed up FFS.

Take the disk out of the caddy and put it inside the PC. There might well be nothing wrong with the actual disk.

Done that. It would appear that the logic board is potentially the root of the problem. £100 punt on a replacement I think cross fingers and swap the boards to see if works - I don't like the sound of that.

We've had so many 2TB drives fail at work with various different companies. I send at least 2 a week away for warranty.
