HardDrive problem!

hey guys,

Got a problem and was wondering if any of the IT gurus had any ideas..!

I have an internal hardrive that dissapears sometimes!(as in it dissapears from my computer etc.. and cant be accessed at all!) when I reset my computer, it brings it back to life! until the next time!

i know its not my O/S, as I reformatted my computer and reinstalled windows recently!

any ideas how to stop this happening, or a fix?!

Update chipset drivers.

Does it appear in disk management mmc. What os?

it doesnt appear in disk management, I was on vista(which it did it in), now I am using windows 7 and it does the same.

where would i get chipset drivers from?

most likely to be the hard drive on its way out imo, get backed up asap just incase

sorted, found a spare western digital 1tb hardrive laying around, so after the transfering of files is done, I'm all good!

right... replaced the hardrive and all was good, but now one of my old hardrives has started doing the same thing, which is now in the same bay as the old faulty hardrive!

could it be the sata cable or power cable or something!?
