HD-DVD - Is it defo region free?

I have heard that the HD-DVD discs are region free, just thinking for my 360 addon drive as i want a couple of US titles and know someone on here must know?

yeah dave they are region free, got superman returns, batman forever, fast and furious 1 and 3, mam vice and mi3 all ready to go check avforums loads of people have the american drives over here, ment to be pretty good like. Where did you preorder?

pre-ordered from gameplay and they say it should ship around the 29th, so heres hoping.

Just one question though, if loads of people are using the US machines over here then surely they will be able to play the US discs, but how does that prove the Uk machines will be able to?

I think I am going to ask fro Superman, batman and Mi3 for christmas, where are you getting them from for a decent price pleasE?

yes, a few but more choice if i can use the US ones!

the drives are the same as the one's we will get here but just with a figure of 8 cable

Some of these films cannot be true HD but instead upscaled conversions. American Werewolf In London for one. That was definately not filmed with true HD equipment

hmmmm, can't remember the exact date but it must have been close to that and i seem to remember them removing it form their website along with game a few days later so hopefully i will be lucky, in my order screen it says it will despatch around the 29th.

thanks for the info, i have found them cheap at dvdworldusa.com too so might try there.

*edit* just checked and it was 7/11 so should be ok!
