HD TV wont play HD

I've downloaded some samples of HD, and stuck them on me flash drive to try on my TV, its a HD Samsung one, bought it about 3 weeks ago.

It says resolution exceeded 720 x *** or something when trying to play.

Any ideas

is this a usb slot in the tv you are trying to play it through?

maybe the footage is 1080p and as there is nothing to output the image properly the tv is having a fit?

have you tried the same video through your computer plugged into your tv?

erm..its a USB slot on my DVD player. I downloaded 1080p 1st, and that didnt work, so I then downloaded 720p and this doesnt work either. Havnt tried hooking the PC up, too far apart.

what type of files did you download, wmv?

the dvd player might not support the file type?

i wouldn't expect to be able to put a hd vid on a memory stick and play it through a dvd player though, an xbox 360, yes (as long as its wmv)

erm dont know what the file is. I'm going to buy the sample of play.com for £8 and see what that is like.

edit* found it, not sure if this will do anything for you unless you have a hd-dvd drive, even if it does play on a standard dvd player too.

best thing is to connect your pc to it by vga and play them through that.

Can play divx / xvid avis through the 360 if you do a little editing with notepad.
