head unit jumping

Hi all,

got myself a JVC chameleon headunit of a guy that owes me money, stuck it in the 172 and gives a great sound, only problem is if i go over a pothole or bump in the road it jumps i know all head units do this but this is extreme, is there anything i can buy to stop this cos its doin me nut in.

thanks

Has it been fitted properly?

On some headunits youll find that theres nipple on the back that may fit into a slot at the back of the dash. This offers extra support and prevents movement when your driving through pot holes.

Or you could just stop driving through pot holes ;)

yeah it is fitted properly, its screwed in at the back too,

im trying to miss the potholes but round my way im driving like im on a slalom course, its awful  so theres no stuff like shock aborbers or anything like that

yeah i had the same problem, i cut some sponge and put it at the back of the head unit. Now it fine, however i did leave some space so any heat can escape.

hope that helps
