Trying to push the bugger in i.e. the plastic rod from the motor and it doesnt seem to want to "mate" with the actual headlight, so when adusting nothing happening to the light itself.
Any tips, I feel defeated
Had the same problem! Mine came unclipped when I was putting new bulbs in (only one side done it though). As Burnz said, it's got to slide in rather than push in. It's tricky but keep going at it and it'll pop in.
Connect the wiring to the motor, turn on the headlights and adjust your level switch inside the car untill the plastic rod is as far out of the motor assembly as you can get it to go. Further adjust the manual adjustment screw on top of the motor to extend the rod further. Now disconect the wiring and turn off the headlights so you dont get burnt/blinded as you fit the motor. This should give you plenty of length to slide the ball into the socket on the headlight reflector before ataching the motor to the headlight.
