Headunit issues !

  AB Clio 182 FF
Hi all i have got the standard cabasse headunit it my 182 . i have a few questions/issues:

The headunit doesn't turn on when i turn on the ignition so i have to push the power button on the hu to turn it on , so when i then turn the ignition off to get out the car the headunit stays on ! is it supposed to do this :S

another thing is on my m8's 172 the volume gets higher automatically so you can still hear it over the engine/exhaust , is that normal ?

Sounds (lol) like the red and yellow are the "wrong" way round but to be honest I've only ever seen this on aftemarket HU (Alpine), the AVC is a setting need to have a look in your instruction manual for the automatic adjustment although it's very annoying and I would leave it off.

Has the head unit been standard all through the life of the car?

Sounds as if permanent and switched 12V feed as been swapped over. These are the yellow and red connectors on the ISO plug.

I believe there is a setting to increase the volume as speed increases, can't remember Renault's name for the feature, but sure it exists.

Hold down SRC for 4 seconds with the unit switched on to enter expert mode then find the auto volume option - it goes from 1 to 5... 3 seems to be about the best for me.

When it's wired properly you should be able to turn the stereo on with the ignition off. It turns itself off after 20 minutes (it beeps first to let you know it's going to do it).
