Hello people

Helol everyone

I am a new member and I am looking at getting a clio 182 I am 25 and have 0 ncb I have owned a few saxos and a clio in the past. What things should I look our for??

Welcome along, first thing to look out for, having 0 ncb, check insurance first :) then if you cna get decent insurance, look at one which has had the belts done and just in general good condition, unless you want to have a project of restoring it :)

Welcome along. Try Greenlight insurance, they are Traders on here and very competitively priced and very helpful

As above the cambelt is the main thing to check as they are a few £££ to get changed and even more if it snaps. Then usual when buying a used car, decent tyres, brakes, service history etc etc . There is a good buyers guide on here and plenty of great info if you have a look around the forum

Thanks i will be making sure the belts been done :) i have 3000 to spend on the car and from looking online theres some really clean ones to be had but also i do intend on a few mods. the insurance is really the biggest worry as i can see it being around 2500 on top of buying the car. if thats the case i might be tempted to push to boat out and get a newer clio 1.6 gt but I'm still really tempted with the sport due to having had a 1.2 sport years ago

Hello Grahame
Have you looked in the car for sale section on here as you do get some nice cars come up wth belts done and service history

I will be and I am doing a lot of reading up on things  I think if I do get insurance I'm looking around 2 grand but from my old 1.2 that cost me 1800 to insure when I was 20 it will be worth it. Also going to get a members pack from the page on pay day

I will get a 182 if it kills me lol

Took me a while. Buying is easy it's the damn insurance is the issue. Mines just dropped to 600 for the year. Worth the wait imo.

I hope I will have the gift of age on my side as I'm 26 next Feb. Stable job and own home so I hope I can get insured. I could get cover on a Toyota starlet gt turbo for 1350 :)

To be honest it is best waiting till you get 1ncb, I got my clio 182 when I was 19, had 1ncb and I got insured for £900, if im honest with you, I would say wait until you at least have 1ncb, but thata is just purely my opinion :)

I have drove a 172 sport that was like a go kart other then that only other performance cars I've drove are a ford focus st 225 a seat leon cupra and a sierra sapphire cosworth :) love the clio had a 1.2 16v that was mad for a 1.2 :)

Two thousand pounds on insurance, at 25? Is that what insurance costs when you live in Baghdad?!

Anyway, welcome, good luck with the search. I'd keep aside a rainy-day fund for repairs, if my 182 is anything to go by, you'll need it!
