Help /Advice required.

Hi

Obvioulsy a few on here are quite in the know about photography so i could do with some advice.

My daughter is taking GCSE photography and i need to buy her a digital SLR. I know sod all about cameras so was hoping someone could recommend a good one for me. Budget is £300 max (she'll probably get bored with it and it will end up in the back of her cupboard with the other stuff i bought her!)

So recommendations new and used would be great.

Take her to Jessops and get her to look at and hold the entry level Nikons and Canons that are inside your budget. Like the Canon 450D/1000D and the Nikon D40.

Then use www.camerapricebuster.com to find them cheaper

Nikon D40 or whatever the Canon equivalent is. I think its the 450D.

Best bet is to let her handle both. One will feel better in her hands, like the options/menus etc. Thats really the most important thing.

Take her into Jessops then mate, which is the best bet. She can see which one she likes.
