Help any suggestions please......

I have a 2003 172 cup and i keep having a problem with water getting in the boot and under back seat. i cant seem to find out where it's coming from any suggestions please.:S :S :S

The sunroof is a common problem.

no sun roof on it. it seems to be coming from under the car?!

Does the Cup have a sunroof :S The FF doesnt.

Check the boot seals. or the rear quaterlight seals. Get in the car and get a mate to spray it with a hosepipe to see if you can see the leak.

Dont mean to sound thick as s**t but whats a rear qauterlight? is it the back lights?

Rear Quaterlight is the rear window. (Sorry old mini speak). You could also check the rear lights what is actually wet?? the whole of the boot or just part of it also is the floor behind the front seat wet.

the whole boot gets wet and gathers in the spare wheel wel. but when i put things in the boot the also get wet and it's only under the back seat on the pasenger side looks as if it comes in from under the back upright. the floor's not wet at all.

Do you know if it happens when you wash the car or when you drive on wet roads, my old 200 used to leak upwards :S from the hole in the wheel well were the wheel bolted into when i drove along ( took ages to find it) your best bet is to take as much interior trim out as poss (start with the boot its easier) and spray sections vigorously with a hose to try to find the leak. Apart from that sorry mate i cant help you

Sorry about the sunroof comment, being a tw@t as i'm bored.

The most common leaking place is the rear lights and the rear side windows. The rear side windows cost about £35 a side from someone like national windscreens to re seal, and the rear lights can be done with a tube of clear bathroom silicon sealant.

Mine did this and the stealer said it was the rear lights not seated correctly.
