  RenaultSport clio 172 mk2
Basically i found a 04 plate 172 but it hasnt got cruise i thought they came standard on late 53 plate onwards.its a uk car as well so strange.
also who has cruise on here and do you think its worth it?

Sorry can't help with the should it shouldn't it question, but i've got cruise on my 182 and i can honestly say i never use it! its a bit pointless unless you are doing serious motorway miles IMHO.
But take into consideration motorway driving in daylight hours, how easy is it to maintain a constant speed, without breaking overtaking etc?

if it's an early 04 then it may not have it. It only came as standard on late 53's so late 53's and early 04's may or may not have it fitted.

then it's an early 04 so i guess it could have been built late 03/53 without the cruise. As for price, no idea sorry mate :rasp:

My 53 reg has it.

But there's a difference to when a car is made and when it is registered.

It could have been made mid 2003 and registered as an 04 (though I doubt it).

Cruise is worth it for motorways and d/c's, especially tryign to save mpg. Takes a lot of getting used to. I find myself catching cars up and being all thumbs and feet as you get a bit mixed up between using the minus button with your thumb or the brake pedal.

I actually think it's a bit dangerous unless the roads are quiet.

As a guide to price, I paid £8800 for my 29k 172 53 reg. Bit overpriced. You should probably be paying that for yours. My was at a Renault dealer.

Yeah it is a novelty. Ok for motorways, but I just don't feel in control and in 100% concentration.

What is more useful is the speed limiter function. For those who don't know, basically you drive as normal it just doesn't let you go above a set maximum speed, say 50 if there's road works.

so mate do think its worth it then i realy wanted it at first but know dont realy mind it be nice to have.also you get the speed limiter i dont use the moterway that much to be honest with you so is it worth buying a 04 plate with out it or wait for a 53 or 04 with low miliage and cruise.

if i get the car for £7300 should i go for it or just wait for 1 in silver with cruise

tbh i'd like cruise control for when i travel down from newcastle to norfolk, but other than that i cant see when id use it.

182's and 172s are meant to be driven :D

My 53 plate 172 has it. To be honest, unless I am am doing a long motorway journey I hardly ever use it.

Had cruise on my old granada, only used it once though. Much prefer the use of the pedals as most the time on motorways you're braking anyway due to retards going 50mph in the middle and inside lanes or lorries overtaking eachother at 0.000001mph uphill on the motorway lol

Cupster

Cruise = pointless

What are you doing on motorways anyway you should be on B roads lol

Unless you're travelling on quiet motorways/dual carriageways doing 25k miles per year - cant see it being essential.
