Help. I have bought a domain to replace old one...

  Fiat Panda 100hp
I'm with Heart Hosting. I have a blog (blog.photos-n-designs.com) but have now decided to change the name and domain as it doesn't really have any relevance to the topics on the blog.

Anyway...I have purchased a new domain, but now don't know how to make it replace the old domain.. Is there a easy way to do this?

I have purchased the domain under the same account I have for the old one... so when I log in I can manage the 2 domains.

A long shot but any ideas?

Surely you have a hosting control panel where you can point your domain to your blog?

I use 1&1 and you can change where your domains point to in seconds. If it's not there, give your hosting company a call and they should be able to do it for you.

But if its just pointed then surely when people are on the blog the url would read the old one and not the new domain name if you get me.

not if it's re-directed to the new one.

Best thing is to put a timer.

i.e this domain has now moved to xxxxxxx

you will be re-directed in 5 seconds

you need to set up a 301 permenant re direct.

if you want to move the blog to the new domain then you need to go into the CP and park the domain there
