Help identifying unny thing at the front of the car.

  Ph1 ITB'd 172
I recently bought a accident damaged 182, it had a small bump on the front passenger side, there is a small plunger type thing that plugs in.

The lead traces back to the top of the fuse box and then round through the bulk head. Its damaged and I want to replace it but have no idea what it is. Does anybody know what it might be?

Will get a photo at some point tonight if I can.

Cheers

Pete

P.S. Its ment to say Funny not unny in the title.

Plunger? What colour is it?

I say it's either a bonnet sensor for the alarm, or the engine cut off switch..

Engine runs so surely it can't be the engine cut off switch can it?

and yeah it's not on a standard clio (check it on my dads DCI) and I'm guessing that doesn't have an alarm so could well be the bonnet sensor.

The casing is grey plastic and the actual plunger thing is black.
