Help needed with High revs at tick over

I have recently noticed that my car seems to tick over with slightly high revs. It is not bad and has only been doing it for a while.

Someone at work mentiond this could be to do with my ECU or my alternator.

I couldnt tell you exactly how many revs as my gauge stopped working a few months ago.

Any Idear what this could be?

Please help!!

Kev,

I had this recently and it could be a number of things!
Either your idle speed control valve needs cleaning.
Your speedo cable needs replacing.
Or your throttle potentiometer needs adjusting.
All are fairly easy jobs but its just getting the right one.
Does it stop if you turn your engine off and then back on, if so its the speedo cable.
cleaning the ISCV will not really cost you anything if you already have some lube!
And the TP can be a bit tricky, its meant to be set up using a special machine at renault but i just marked where mine was and adjusted it slightly and has been fine ever since.

could very well be an air leak after the throttle. check the injector to head o ring seals, as these can leak and let air into engine, which makes it idle slightly higher.
