HELP! what are my options?

  Goliath I
I bought my 182 on finance (at 2%) November last year and now Ive recently lost my job.

Ive tried contacting Renault Finance 5 or 6 times but Im just put on hold for ages which I haven't got time for as I have a 2 year old boy to run around after

anyway... can anyone tell me what sort of options I'm looking at?

cheers

Ring them and wait for them to answer can your boy not be left for a few minutes by the phone?

Options wise depend on your agreement you can give the car back after half the finance is payed often as its EU law but best talk to then your likly to be in trouble finantually.

When you call renault finance, it can take upto 11 minutes to get through. When you call, don't select any options, just keep waiting, and you will get through.

(i had to call them over 6 times today, oh deep joy!)

If you got payment protection I think they reduce your monthly payments or something for a few months whilst you get another job. otherwise your in trouble...

^^ will work if the car is worth more than the finance, the buyer can buy it off rci and then give the difference to andy31652

Phone them and ask them, if you don't have a free 15 minutes in the day how do you shower?

^^^^ Agreed. You havent said how much of the car you financed and over how long a term. Once you know for sure how much you owe, you can review your options.

cheers for your feedback guys, heres a bit more info

I got through to the finance (after numerous attemptsand much waiting) and was told that nothing could be done until I actually started missing payments with them. I explained that it was this I wanted to avoid but was again told that they couldn't do anything.

I am currently juggling 2 part time jobs I live in a smallish town area in which full time jobs are hard to come by, especially as I worked with the same companyfor about 7 years since I started work, which limits my experience.

Ive owned the since last November total of car, handling, finance etc... coming to about 12,500 and have paid off just over 2,500. This means I would have to sell the car for about 10 grand, which would be very doubtful (its an 05 reg, 12000 miles on the clock 182 cup)

They can do someting explain your situation/try again they'll give you settlment figures etc.

Assuming its a 55 plate 2005 car with 10k then its worth about £7~7.5k trade in.

finance are still refusing to do anything

Ive worked out my only option is to get a loan off the bank, try sell the car for about 7-8000, pay off the rest of the finance with the loan and get a cheap run about with remaining cash until I get back on my feet
