Help with my pc...

The problems started on Tuesday evening whilst i was online, the desktop got flooded with masses of pop-ups (pop-up blocker is enabled) i cancelled all of these however my computer decided to start being slow for some reason, just wondering if any of you guys/ girls could of offer me any advice as to what the cause could be and also suggest some ways of sorting it out as i'm almost completely unable to use the computer now.

And before it gets suggested i know internet explorer had problems this week however i've installed the secureity updates and its made no difference.

Any advice is welcome.

install avast (http://www.avast.com/eng/download.html) and also adaware (http://www.lavasoft.com/single/trialpay.php) and run both of them to check your pc out for viruses etc. i would do the avast scan first. Both apps are free!
