Im getting a droning noise coming from the rear of my 2003 172(i think its the left hand side), i assumed it was a bearing but there is no play in the wheel, can any1 tell me how to check the bearing, is it just a case of taking the disc off and having a look? cheers

tried it. nothing, my m8 reckons that if the bearing is only just started to make the noise you will only hear it with weight on it while turning

Bearings in the disc on the rear IIRC ?

Unless they were only replaced recently (in which case, take them back) it's a nice time to get some new brakes all round before you have major issues.

Brembos and DS2500s (and braided lines) FTW :)

Bearing could be internally shagged. Could be leaking grease which would be visible. Does the droning noise become louder/quieter whilst cornering?

My parents live in the north of Hanover. you can get discs with bearings and ABS-rings quite cheap from a motor factor (OE quality). I could get you a quote from my Renault dealer here aswell as i get discount. Just drop me a PM if you need some help.
