help!

just working on the car now.. I want to get the start motor heat shield off...(to check the connections car wont start)
is the shield bolted on? whats the best way to get it,without messing with the manifold?

I think it will only come out still attached with the starter motor. I found It hard enough to do even with the engine out and with the manifold still attached.

Oh, and it's not bolted, just a spring clip that fits tight onto the starter

thanks just found out, took wheel off, can see where its connected.. big white wire doesn't look rusty,pushed the little black on in..
they seem ok... just wish I had a mulimeter to check it..silly place to put a start motor..
checked the middle brown relay,if I take it out ,seems the same fault..
car does start now.. just its failed to start a few times..
