HID Lights

  Dervvv
i just installed my 8000k HID lights at the weekend... i am well impressed with them and havent had any trouble with the police are anything consering them

but a question :rasp:

i noticed ya can get 12000k H1 HID what ya think maybe to bright

The higher the K value the less lumen you have. Basicly 6000k has more lightoutput then 12000k. Don't be fooled by the human eye ;)

some people !!

why the hell would you want to drive with purple lights ? you will se a hell of a alot less with the light been produced at that temp

even 8000k is far too high

do u just change the normal bulbs for these brighter ones? Or is there more involved?

you get power boxes, they are easy to fit, but you havto remove them for mot.... mine are cable tyed into place, and wraped in plastic bags so they will stay dry while driving in this wet weather but then again its me just being extra safe lol

i uploaded this pic from ebay as i am in college and dont have the rights to send one from my fone lol

8k is to much imo, standard xenons on rs clios run @ 4.3k.

I had 6k xenons on my ph 1 172 and they were perfect as an after market kit.

The higher the number on the kelvin scale you go the more purple the light becomes and the less light omitted from the bulbs.

What kit did you use on your ph1 fella?

I replaced my bulbs today for some white/blue jobbies, much better

Iv had my 6000K HID's in for around 9 months now, there only slightly blue, and the light output is great. Wouldn't want to go any higher then 6000k's. Had no problems with police either.

On a side note, iv been told i don't need to remove them for the mot, as mot only tests the angle of the beam and not the light intensity. correct?

Do you have projectors or standard halogen housing?

i think you would need to then because the beams would piss off other drivers (and by piss offf i mean blind)

where could you get a set of projectors from ( without spending stupid money on angel eyes) ?
